About me

Welcome!

I started this blog to challenge myself and to share my learnings. There are so many great resources out there and my goal is to be able to bring this knowledge and make it practical for the children and young people. I’m also passionate about finding different practices to connect the heart, mind, and body; thus the name of this blog. Yes I know, “body” is not in the title as it sure was hard to find an available domain name that sounded somewhat decent.

My counselling practice began 15 years ago and I was lucky enough to be mentored in Attachment Therapy, Narrative Family Therapy, and Play Therapy. I had the privilege of learning from mentors who valued being connected, seeing people as experts in their lives, and being playful. Through my work, I’ve been trained in CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, and EFFT.

Recently, I’ve found passion in Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies fit my worldview of living in the moment, being curious, accepting who we are, and making commitments in line with our values.

This is a place where I challenge myself to learn and write about Well-being, Mindfulness, and ACT. I hope you can join me in the journey of discovering how to connect our hearts, our minds, and our bodies in a fun and engaging way.
